QUEEN ANNE STYLE AND ANTIQUE STYLE WOODEN DOLLS

I thought I'd add a page to show the latest hand carved wooden doll on which I am working. Lady Catrinka is a Siamese Cat who will be dressed in a traditional Queen Anne Style and will be about 18-20 inches tall.. She is just about ready to be fitted for her antique style outfit.

I use no carving or duplicating machines in making these dolls. They are carved completely by hand using chisels and knives. It takes hours of shaving and sanding to perfect a doll. I myself do not know how the doll will look until after she is painted.

An antique "Great Wheel" spinning wheel. It came to me in pieces. It is now in working order.

Here is an antique upright spinning wheel. It has a hand crank rather than a foot pedal. It is completely hand made.

This Ashford Kit Kraft was the first spinning wheel I bought about two years ago. In that time I have finally learned how to spin wool on it.

I could not resist buying this cast iron mermaid even though she is brand new and more than likely made in China
